Dmytruk stated that he is being surveilled.

Ukrainian MP and deacon of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), Artem Dmytruk, who has been actively defending the UOC, wrote on his Telegram channel that an assassination attempt is being planned against him and his family.

"Today, I received information that I am being surveilled – they are looking for places where I live, where I train, walk with my children, and serve in the church... When, considering the real danger, I tried to exercise my right to protect myself and my family members, I was denied. The refusal came due to pressure from higher state bodies and authorities! It is important to note that the security I requested was not free; it would have been paid for on a commercial basis," Dmytruk wrote.

The MP had previously approached law enforcement regarding threats against him, but a criminal case was never opened.

Currently, several Ukrainian nationalist groups have accused Dmytruk of "treason" and "promoting pro-Russian narratives". After his critical statements about the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region, one of the nationalist leaders, Yevhen Karas, openly sought people willing to carry out an attack on the MP.

As reported by the Union of Orthodox Journalists, Yevhen Karas had earlier promised to "beat up" MPs who did not vote for the ban on the UOC.
