Georgia will establish a new state holiday – "Family Sanctity Day" on May 17, when the world observes the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia.

In the near future, the parliamentary majority in Georgia will initiate a package of laws "On Family Values and Protection of Minors", which consists of one main law and 18 related bills amending various laws: the Civil Code, the Labor Code, legislation on education, etc., reports Sputnik Georgia.

According to the explanation by the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, this legislative package will regulate 8 issues related to marriage, adoption, gender transition procedures, banning LGBT content in the education sector and media, as well as prohibition of conducting meetings or demonstrations to promote same-sex marriage or incest.

The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, presenting the package of homophobic and propagandistic draft laws, noted that intimate LGBT scenes will have to be cut from cinemas and TV shows. According to him, this is "a common practice in various issues".

As reported by SPZH, in March of this year, the ruling party "Georgian Dream" initiated a law banning LGBT propaganda.
