Romanian Patriarchate "gives the go-ahead" for clerics from Moldovan Church

The Synod of the Romanian Patriarchate has declared disciplinary measures against clergy of the Moldovan Church "invalid".

On February 29, 2024, the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church took a decision regarding the clergy of the Moldovan Orthodox Church in its meeting, basilica.ro reports.

The Romanian Patriarchate stated that all Romanian Orthodox clergy and their communities who "return to the Bessarabian Metropolis" are "canonical clergy and blessed believers" and "any disciplinary action taken against them based on their affiliation with the Romanian Orthodox Church is considered invalid, according to Synod decision No. 8090 of December 19, 1992."

As reported, the Romanian Patriarchate established the "Romanian Orthodox Church of Ukraine".
