The Synod of the Romanian Church has blessed Romanian Orthodox communities in Ukraine to move to the jurisdiction of the Romanian Patriarchate.

On 29 February 2024, a working session of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church was held, reports basilica.ro.

One of the main decisions of the Synod concerned Orthodox communities in Ukraine, namely: "Blessing, encouraging and supporting the initiatives of Romanian Orthodox communities in Ukraine to restore communion with the Mother Church, the Romanian Patriarchate, through their legal organisation in a religious structure called the Romanian Orthodox Church of Ukraine."

As reported, the Church of Moldova banned 6 more clerics for converting to the Romanian Patriarchate.
