Following up attack on priest in Stryi, local authorities ban UOC

The reason for the ban of the UOC in Stryi, Lviv region, according to officials, was the attack on the archpriest Vladimir Mandziuk.

On May 26, 2022, the Stryi City Council deputies decided to ban the activities of the UOC, as reported on the authority's Facebook page.

According to local officials, the reason for the ban was an incident that occurred on May 22, 2022, when during a service, unknown persons poured brilliant green on Fr. Vladimir Mandziuk.

Also, the Stryi city council members appealed to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with a request to approve the bills to ban the UOC on the territory of the country.

As earlier reported, the offenders not only splashed green into the priest's face but also painted on his car, writing "Death to the occupants!" and "Down with the Moscow priest!".

Earlier, deputies of the Bohorodychyn village council in the Ivano-Frankivsk region banned the UOC.
