A number of UOC dioceses stop commemoration of Patriarch Kirill
Part of the bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church blessed their clergy not to commemorate Patriarch Kirill at worship services.
A number of hierarchs of the UOC blessed their clergy to stop commemorating Patriarch Kirill at worship services. The hierarchs believe this is a necessary step to maintain peace and unity of believers amid the Russian military invasion of Ukraine.
As of March 3, 2022, there are known official orders from 15 dioceses: Ternopil, Chernivtsi-Bukovyna, Kamyanets-Podilskyi, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Bilotserkovka, Volyn, Volodymyr-Volynskyi, Mukachevo, Rivne, Voznesensk, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv and Sumy Eparchies.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that, according to Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, church issues should be resolved canonically and conciliarly.
