Zhytomyr Eparchy asks for help in repairing a building after a big fire

During a fire in the administrative building of the Zhytomyr Eparchy, valuable papers and icons were saved.

The press secretary of Zhytomyr Eparchy, Archpriest Viktor Golubovsky, told the Union of Orthodox journalists: "Thank God! Many icons and valuable papers have survived!"

According to Fr Viktor, the building suffered noticeable damage: "The causes are being investigated, but most likely the fire was caused by a chimney. The roof and the first floor are burnt out, and the ground floor is flooded with water".

"The Zhytomyr Eparchy and its Governor, Metropolitan Nikodim of Zhytomyr and Novograd-Volynsky, express their sincere gratitude to the firefighters and rescuers who made great efforts to overcome the fire and its consequences," says the Zhytomyr Eparchy website.
