Vatican on Trump's intentions to end wars: He has no magic wand
Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin expressed a wish for wisdom to the newly elected U.S. president.
During a conference at the Pontifical Gregorian University on November 7, Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin was asked by journalists to comment on Donald Trump's election as President of the United States. According to Vatican News, Parolin wished Trump "great wisdom, as it is, according to the Bible, the primary virtue of rulers."
The cardinal expressed hope that the U.S. president could help ease tensions in current conflicts, which, he said, "are soaking the world in blood".
Pietro Parolin commented on Trump’s statement that wars would end under his leadership: "I think he doesn’t have a magic wand either."
In his view, the Vatican and the new American president have important common ground, particularly regarding the protection of life and the condemnation of abortion.
As previously reported by the UOJ, attorney Amsterdam congratulated James Vance on his election as U.S. Vice President.
