The main requirement of the participants of the LGBT march is to adopt bill No. 5488, which establishes new responsibility for discrimination against LGBT people.

On September 19, the LGBT march KyivPride-2021 was held in Kyiv. It began at 11:00 and lasted for an hour and a half, reports strana.ua.

Law enforcers cordoned off and blocked the streets along which the LGBT participants passed. Before the start of the action, law enforcement officers detained nine people aged 18 to 48 who wanted to throw condoms filled with feces on the participants.

The organizers said that 8 thousand people took part in the march, but according to police estimates, about 3 thousand people came to the event.

The participants of the march chanted: “Riot, get up, don’t give up your rights!” and “Human rights are above all”.

The main requirement of the LGBT march participants is to adopt bill No. 5488, which establishes new responsibility for discrimination against LGBT people. The Cabinet of Ministers introduced the bill to the Rada in May, but shortly before the Equality March it was included in the agenda and is planned to be considered in the near future.

Among others, Canadian Ambassador to Ukraine Roman Vashchuk, MEP Rebecca Kharms, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Maxim Nefiodov took part in the LGBT march.

Opponents of the Equality March in support of LGBT rights gathered in Shevchenko Park. Representatives of the organizations "Tradition and Order", "Right Sector" and "Christian Front" set up several tents and demanded to protect traditional family values. Participants held posters "Sodomy – the road to hell".

The people's deputy from the “For the Future” group Viktor Mialyk came out to the LGBT march with a poster “God, the Constitution of Ukraine and human nature are against LGBT people in the country”.

An unidentified woman also tried to stop the LGBT column, she lay down in front of the participants of the march, due to which the movement was temporarily suspended. The law enforcers came to the place and took her out of there.

As reported, the “Kharkiv Pride” LGBT march took place in Kharkiv.
