The agenda of the experts includes the issue of the threat posed by the promotion of the heresy of "Eastern papism" by the Patriarchate of Constantinople.

On 17 October 2024, an international scientific conference "The Influence of the Constantinople Patriarchate on the Fate of Orthodoxy in Ukraine" will be held at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Belgrade. The event is prompted by concerns over the negative influence of the Phanar on the church situation in Ukraine and the world, reports pravoslavie.ru.

The conference will bring together academic and expert representatives from the episcopate, as well as theologians from Balkan countries, Ukraine and France. Speakers will include His Eminence Luke, Metropolitan of Zaporizhzhia and Melitopol, Professor Dr. Zoran Kindjić, Professor Dr. Zoran Čvorović, Professor Dr. Zoran Milošević, Archpriest, Professor Dr. Darko Ristov Đogo and others.

The participants will discuss the aggravation of the church situation in Ukraine and the extent of the Phanar's responsibility for this issue.

As previously reported by the UOJ, Patriarch Bartholomw emphasized the importance of the autocephaly of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) as a step towards strengthening the unity of the Orthodox world.
