The candidate for U.S. Vice President speaks about the threat to religious freedom in Ukraine posed by Bill 8371.

In a short documentary film about the illegal persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which is being broadcast on television channels in the United States, among many others, is Donald Trump’s vice-presidential candidate, J.D. Vance. This was reported by UOC's American lawyer Robert Amsterdam on his X account on July 15.

The film, produced by his firm Amsterdam & Partners LLP, explores the acute human rights issue in Ukraine related to the illegal persecution of the UOC by the state.

Specifically, it includes a statement by vice-presidential candidate Vance, in which he highlights the threat of Ukrainian Bill 8371, aimed at illegally banning the entire Ukrainian Orthodox Church under false pretenses.

“We hope that awareness of these critical issues continues to grow to protect the UOC,” added Amsterdam.

As the UOJ reported, Presidential candidate Donald Trump chose Ohio Senator J.D. Vance, who criticized the persecution of the UOC, for the position of the U.S. Vice President.
