Patriarch of Bulgarian Orthodox Church visits U.S. Embassy

The newly elected Patriarch of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church participated in Independence Day celebrations.
On July 2, Patriarch Daniel of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, at the invitation of US Ambassador to Bulgaria Kenneth Merten, visited the American Embassy and participated in the upcoming Independence Day celebrations, according to the Bulgarian Patriarchate's website.
It is reported that Patriarch Daniel was congratulated on his enthronement by Ambassador Merten, as well as numerous public figures and politicians, including Acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev.
As the UOJ reported, Metropolitan Augustine in Sofia conveyed congratulations to His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel of the BOC.
