The Primate of the Serbian Church served the Liturgy on the Day of the Holy Spirit at the Holy Trinity Church of the Russian Orthodox Church Metochion.

On June 21, 2021, on the Day of the Holy Spirit, Patriarch Porfirije (Perić) of the Serbian Orthodox Church led the Divine Liturgy on the patronal day of the Metochion of the Russian Orthodox Church in Belgrade (Serbia), reports the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate.

Together with the clergy and believers, His Holiness the Patriarch was greeted by the children's church choir of the Metochion at the entrance to the church. At the Liturgy, His Holiness was concelebrated by the rector of the Holy Trinity Church – the Metochion of the Russian Orthodox Church in Belgrade, Archpriest Vitaly Tarasyev, as well as the priesthood of the Serbian Church. At the Small Entrance, Hieromonk Hierotheos (Petrovic) was elevated to the rank of archimandrite by Patriarch Porfirije.

The Primate of the SOC congratulated the parishioners on the patronal feast, calling the Holy Trinity Church of the ROC Metochion “the place of the Holy Spirit”, in which during the divine service “the whole Church of Christ is gathered – both heaven and earth – in which there are no boundaries and divisions, where it does not matter who to what nation belongs." He also wished Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ many years and strong health, and peace, love and truth to the Russian people and the Russian Church. "And may all the attempts of evil and the wicked one against the Church, clothed with the powers of this world, be thrown under the feet of Christ and under the feet of His Church, and may the Lord bless all of us and the whole world and fill it with the grace of the Holy Spirit," he said in conclusion, Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia.

As the UOJ reported, the UOC spokesperson said that the Serbian Patriarch Porfirije confirmed his support for us.
