Epifaniy Dumenko stated that his structure abroad can only operate with the consent of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

The head of the OCU, Epifaniy Dumenko, in an interview with Radio Liberty, admitted that his structure cannot establish overseas parishes, as the UOC does.

The journalist asked Dumenko what his structure does to ensure that Ukrainians abroad have the opportunity to attend "services" of the OCU.

Dumenko replied that in this regard, the OCU can only act "in conjunction with the Ecumenical Patriarchate" because "we do not have the right to establish our parishes in other countries outside Ukraine." Epifaniy explained that "this is stipulated in the Tomos."

Earlier, the UOJ reported that Dumenko ascribed "collective responsibility" to those unwilling to join the OCU.
