Ostapenko promises to show people Lavra's "exhibits"
The director of the reserve told about the programs he had initiated within the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
Director of the National Reserve "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra" Maksym Ostapenko announced that 95% of the exhibits from the funds of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra had not been previously exhibited. He shared this in an interview with Radio Culture.
"In need of restoration are the fund collections, which house absolute treasures and masterpieces of the Ukrainian people. These are 72 thousand exhibits, 95% of which people haven't even seen. We have launched a program to scan these exhibits, and in two years, we have managed to process 15,000 items," he said.
As reported by the UOJ, Mariana Tomin, Director of the Department for Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture and head of the commission for the transfer of objects of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra to the state, stated that an "inventory" of the relics of the Kyiv-Pechersk saints would take place in the monastery caves.
