The head of the UGCC said that if he is still alive, it means he has a mission.

In an interview with CNA, the head of the UGCC, Sviatoslav Shevchuk, in response to a journalist's question about his personal experience of war, stated that "intelligence reports have indicated that he is one of Russia’s top 10 targets for elimination."

He said that nobody is safe in Ukraine in situations of war.

"So, it is dangerous. But that is the mission of each bishop in that time to journey with his own flock," emphasized Shevchuk.

"From the very beginning, I completely entrusted myself, my life, into God’s hand. Lord, let your will be done. If you want me alive, it means that I have to serve your people. I am still alive, which means that I have a mission," the UGCC head added.

As reported, earlier the head of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church said that on the night of Russia's invasion of Ukrainian territory, residents of Kyiv stood guard with their evacuation suitcases.
