Culture Ministry tells Americans that Lavra is open for interfaith dialogue
Ukrainian authorities assured American partners that they respect representatives of all religions and denominations.
As part of the summit on religious freedom in Washington, Ukrainian authorities, together with the OCU and the UGCC, organized an exhibition of churches destroyed by war. They also told Americans how freely religious organizations breathe in Ukraine and how unfreely they do it in Russia.
The events were attended by MPs Oksana Savchuk, David Arakhamia, Head of the DESS Viktor Yelensky, "priest" of the OCU A. Dudchenko, Chief Rabbi of Kyiv Yonatan Binyamin Markovich, and others.
During the National Prayer Breakfast and other events, representatives of the "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra" Reserve told those present that "Ukraine knows well what encroachment on spirituality and faith is, as every day Russian occupation forces shell our churches and kill our believers."
"Today, the Lavra is open for interfaith and intercultural dialogue," officials told Americans. "Although our churches have been and remain a place of Ukrainian prayer, spiritual healing, and strength, we respect representatives of all religions and denominations. This is one of the main principles of modern Ukrainian politics and society."
Recall that MP Inna Sovsun stated that it is necessary to actively tell Americans that the OCU is part of the FSB.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Amsterdam urged organizers to exclude Yelensky from the list of IRF participants.
