Lotysh: Kyiv Lavra is only for OCU, there can be no coexistence with UOC
The OCU rejected the idea of coexistence with the UOC in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and said that only they should be present in the monastery.
In an interview with "Telegraf", the acting abbot of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra from the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), Avrahamiy Lotysh, rejected the idea of coexistence with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) in the Lavra, stating that only the OCU should be present in the monastery.
Lotysh emphasized that such a scenario is impossible and would lead to "constant conflicts and provocations" from the side of the UOC. Responding to a journalist's question about the coexistence of UOC and OCU in the Lavra, Lotysh explained that the UOC is about "shouts, awful behavior, all under the guise of persecution for faith, under the guise of someone trying to seize the Lavra."
As previously reported, the OCU announced the recruitment of individuals for "service" to Metropolitan Epifaniy in the Lavra with a deposit of 200 hryvnias.
