A criminal case opened over forceful seizure of UOC church in Ladyzhyn

Law enforcers have initiated criminal proceedings on a forceful seizure of the Kazan Church of the UOC in the town of Ladyzhyn, Vinnytsia region, reports ctrana.news referring to the sources in law enforcement agencies.
"40 unidentified individuals in camouflage uniforms entered the premises of the Kazan Church,” the edition cites the words of its source. “They aggressively expressed dissatisfaction with UOC believers holding religious services, which led to a conflict. During the scuffle, a UOC clergyman sustained physical injuries but refused hospitalization."
According to law enforcers, a criminal case was opened under the article on arbitrariness. The offenders face either a fine of up to fifty tax-free minimum incomes of citizens or correctional labour for up to two years or arrest for up to three months.
As reported, on 9 December 2024, OCU raiders used a bulldozer to break down the door of the UOC church in Ladyzhyn, brutally beat and threw the rector and parishioners into the street and seized the temple.
