The head of the Ministry of Culture Commission on the transfer of Lavra objects to the state said that the issue with the UOC believers living in the Lavra buildings will soon be "resolved".
Maryana Tomin, the Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture and the head of the Commission on the transfer of objects of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra to the state, said on the air of the national telethon that the issue with the UOC believers living in the buildings of the monastery will soon be "resolved".
Tomin noted that as of 8 January 2024, three objects of the monastery (buildings 54, 57 and 58 – Ed.) remain "barricaded by unknown people".
"This is one of the reasons why the Lower Lavra is a restricted-access facility. But I think this issue will be resolved soon," she assured.
As reported, the acting head of the Ministry of Culture said that his ministry is working on persuading the Lavra monks to move to the OCU.
