The new union of MPs from different parliamentary factions will defend peaceful coexistence of different confessions in Ukraine.

On Tuesday, February 16, the Verkhovna Rada announced the creation of a new inter-factional association of deputies "For Confessional Peace in Ukraine", Ukrinform reports.

Members of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Vadim Novinsky (non-factional) and Alexander Kachura (Servant of the People faction) were elected heads of the association.

As the UOJ reported, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine intends to adopt the Istanbul Convention despite the protest of the Council of Churches.
