The Holy Synod of the Georgian Church did not consider the "Ukrainian question".

The Patriarchate of Georgia announced the decisions taken by the Holy Synod of the Georgian Orthodox Church on February 11, reports patriarchate.ge.

The Holy Synod made decisions on various issues related to various church and social topics. The Ukrainian question was not discussed at the meeting of the Holy Synod.

The main issue that the Synod considered was the fate of the David Gareji Monastery. The Synod said that the Chichkhituri and Udabno Monasteries, located on the disputed area of the David Gareji complex, are "part of the historical, cultural and religious identity of the Georgian people" and called on the Georgian authorities to begin negotiations with Azerbaijan to restore the status quo.

The Holy Synod of the Georgian Church welcomed the voluntary nature of vaccination, stating that “the vaccine has just been created and there are different opinions of specialists about it”, adding that citizens should not be prosecuted for being or not being vaccinated.

The meeting of the Synod discussed the "Christian, Evangelical, Protestant Church – Biblical Freedom", created by the “New Political Centre – Girchi” party, which the Synod declared a sect, whose members will be denied communion, as well as participation in church sacraments until repentance of sin.

As previously reported, unique frescoes are being rescued in the Georgian monastery.
