Viatrovych: The expertise of the Venice Commission will not be in our favor
MP of Poroshenko's party believes that Stefanchuk should not send the bill on the ban of the UOC to the Venice Commission, since its verdict will be "not in our favour".
An MP of the European Solidarity party, Volodymyr Viatrovych, said in a commentary to "Apostroph" that the speaker of Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk should not send the bill 8371 on the ban of the UOC to the Venice Commission for examination, because the verdict of the Commission will not be in favour of the Ukrainian authorities.
According to him, the commission "has pro-Russian positions, this was shown by the commission's recommendations on the law on national minorities."
"The outcome may not be in our favour," Viatrovych fears.
He believes that Stefanchuk should not sign the letter of the MPs. And thus, according to Viatrovych's idea, "it will not get to Venice".
It will be reminded that, according to human rights defender Oleh Denysov, if Stefanchuk refuses to write to the Venice Commission, the MPs may appeal to other representatives of the state authorities.
