Kyiv City Council official: UOC keeps FSB agents in its temples
The Deputy Head of the Kyiv City Administration stated that the authorities "cannot stand aside" from the "transfers" of communities to the OCU.
Volodymyr Prokopiv, the Deputy Head of the Kyiv City Administration, has claimed in an interview with Telegraf that the UOC keeps FSB agents and weapons in its temples, and therefore, the authorities "should not stand aside" from the processes of transferring temples to the OCU.
Responding to a question about the possibility of banning the UOC in Kyiv, the official emphasized that "such a decision is possible and is comprehensive".
He stated that the transfers of communities to the OCU are "the best thing possible" because, according to him, the UOC is "essentially an FSB branch, where they stored weapons, agents, engaged in the recruitment of Ukrainians, etc."
According to him, the city authorities regarding the UOC "must take appropriate decisions."
"As for the city, the discussion should focus exclusively on economic decisions. I mean, for example, renting our property, renting communal land to the residents of Kyiv, paying these funds into the budget, and overall, further relations with this organization," Prokopiv stated.
As previously reported, the Kyiv City Council claimed that not a single community of the UOC has transferred to the OCU since 2019 in Kyiv.
