Greek Metropolitan considers UOC Primate a confessor
According to the hierarch of the Greek Church, UOC believers should "freely and without constant persecutions to exercise their Divine Worship”.
On 3 September 2023, Metropolitan Seraphim of Kythira and Antikythera of the Greek Orthodox Church stated that he considers the Primate of the UOC, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, a confessor.
In a message on the occasion of the beginning of the new church indictment, Metropolitan Seraphim urged his flock to pray for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
He wrote that bishops, priests and laity of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church under the omophorion of the "confessor-Metropolitan" of Kyiv and All Ukraine Onuphry should be able to "freely and without constant persecutions to exercise their Divine Worship and Christian duties".
As reported, earlier the bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church spoke about their impressions of their dialogue with His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry.
