The vehicle will be used by the recently established medical unit of the Military Department of the UOC.

The clergy and believers of Kyiv parishes of the UOC have raised 300,000 hryvnias for the purchase of a vehicle to evacuate wounded soldiers from the front lines, reports the Telegram channel "Tserkva Dopomahaye" (The Church Helps).

After purchasing the vehicle, it will be used by the recently established medical unit of the Synodal Department of the UOC for Interaction with the Armed Forces and other military formations of Ukraine.

Deputy Head of the department, Priest Vyacheslav Yakovenko, noted that only UAH 500,000 are needed to acquire the vehicle, and an additional 200,000 will cover its armour and medical equipment for providing medical assistance.

The message highlights that during a single shift, there can be over ten wounded individuals, and there is also a need to transport the deceased.

The funds raised were handed over to the Foundation for the Support of Ukraine's Defenders of St. Hetman Peter Kalnyshevsky, established by the priests of the Military Department of the UOC. The Foundation is engaged in the purchase, armouring and equipping of the vehicle.

As reported, in late July, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, consecrated vehicles for the evacuation of wounded servicemen.
