ROC establishes "patriarchal mission" in occupied territories of Ukraine

The Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church decided to establish a patriarchal humanitarian mission to assist clerics and wounded fighters of the Russian Federation.

The Synod of the Russian Church held on 24 August decided to set up a patriarchal humanitarian mission on the territory of the "DNR" and "LNR", as well as parts of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions occupied by the Russian Federation, reports the website of the Moscow Patriarchate.

Journal 62 reads that the mission is being established "for the purpose of further coordination and systematic development of humanitarian assistance to civilians, including Orthodox clergy", as well as "to coordinate the provision of assistance to wounded servicemen in medical institutions in the listed regions".

As earlier reported, the Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church condemned the actions of the head of the Latvian Church.
