Archbishop Chrysostomos accused those who disagree with his position of creating a parallel synod.

On November 1, 2020, the head of the Orthodox Church of Cyprus, Archbishop Chrysostomos, said that the position of the four metropolitans who disagreed with the decision to commemorate Dumenko is called a "conspiracy" and "is punishable with deposition," reports “Romfea”.

When asked by the journalist whether the four metropolitans who disagreed with the commemoration of Dumenko sent him a letter, Archbishop Chrysostom replied that he had not received such a letter: “No. Here there is a secretariat of the Holy Synod and whoever wants can send."

At the same time, the Primate of the Church of Cyprus assured that he would convene the Holy Synod "even if one metropolitan asks" and accused those who disagree with his position of creating a parallel synod.

“They accuse me, but the four met without me. This is called conspiracy and is severely punished by deposition. But I did not say anything. They do what they condemn themselves and I am silent to see where their illegality will reach,” says Archbishop Chrysostom.

The head of the Church of Cyprus sees the worst for himself in the fact that Metropolitan Isaiah of Tamassos spoke out against his position.

“Metropolitan of Kykkos has an age, he has the right to say one more reason. But, child, if Metropolitan of Tamassos comes out and insults me, that goes a long way. It is not moral, and it is my ordination. Shame on him. He shouldn’t have insulted me. Now he's trying to fix it. But this is impossible because he has already said everything. What kind of behaviour is this to offend the one who ordained you and is the Primate of the Church?” Archbishop Chrysostomos expressed indignation.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that Archbishop Chrysostomos said that he did not inform the Synod members about the commemoration of Dumenko because they would not agree with this, and he was not going to listen to them.
