The Office of the Prosecutor General claims that Metropolitan Pavel “incited national, regional and religious hatred” with his statements.

Office of the Prosecutor General demands to transfer the abbot of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel, from round-the-clock house arrest to detention. This is stated in the telegram channel of the Prosecutor General Office.

It notes that Met. Pavel is charged with "inciting religious hatred" and "justifying the actions of the Russian Federation."

The UCP also reported that according to the investigation, in his telephone conversations with believers, Vladyka “incited national, regional and religious hatred” with his statements, and in his speeches “repeatedly insulted the religious feelings of Ukrainians, humiliated the views of believers of other faiths and tried to form hostile attitudes towards them."

In addition, the Office of the Prosecutor General claims that within the framework of criminal proceedings, the facts of the Metropolitan's communication with a witness in criminal proceedings were established, despite the corresponding prohibition on this in the court decision.

“A petition has been sent to the Solomensky District Court of Kyiv to change the preventive measure for a clergyman from round-the-clock house arrest to detention,” the Office of the Prosecutor General said in its statement.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the SBU announced new charges against Metropolitan Pavel.
