Meeting of ROC Holy Synod begins in Moscow
The Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church has met for a session dedicated to life amid the coronavirus pandemic.
On August 25, 2020, the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church has met for a regular session at the patriarchal residence of the St. Daniel Monastery in Moscow, reports the official website of the Moscow Patriarchate.
The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill, noted in his welcoming speech that the Church is going through a difficult time in connection with the coronavirus pandemic, and in these conditions new problems that require solutions arise.
Then the chancellor of the Moscow Patriarchate, first patriarchal vicar and chairman of the patriarchal working group for coordinating the work of church institution in the situation of the spread of the coronavirus infection, Metropolitan Dionisy of Voskresensk, made a report about the Church’s work in the period of the coronavirus infection pandemic.
The official website of the Moscow Patriarchate will publish the journals of the meeting later.
