The Cathedral of the OCU is given to the Russian Church "for free use."

The OCU Cathedral of Saints Vladimir and Olga in Simferopol is being handed over by the Russian authorities to the Russian Orthodox Church, RIA Novosti Crimea reports.

“Chairman of the Committee of the State Council of Crimea on property and land relations” Yevgenia Dobrynia said that “these will be legal relations with the state, on the basis of which property will be transferred, and it will be used in accordance with applicable law.”

According to her, the premises were confiscated because the OCU did not want to renew the lease agreement according to Russian laws. The head of the diocese of the OCU, Kliment Kushch, issued a Russian passport for himself but refused to reissue the documents of the temple.

As the resource writes, “On May 11, 2023, employees of the Federal Bailiff Service enforced the decision. An inventory of all the property in the temple was made. The ROC has not yet reported how they plan to use the OCU temple.

“They promised to report how the building would be used upon completion of all legal procedures,” the report says.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the Internet was reminded of the “hierarch” of the OCU with a Russian passport.
