The priesthood and believers of the UOC Cathedral in Ivano-Frankivsk told the UN Monitoring Mission about the seizure of their church.

On May 5, 2023, a meeting was held in Ivano-Frankivsk between the clergy and parishioners of the raided Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ of the UOC and the UN Monitoring Mission. About 30 people from the community participated in it. Bishop Nikita of Ivano-Frankivsk told the UOJ about the event.

Members of the religious community spoke with the UN representatives about the violation of their rights, including details of the seizure of the temple using tear gas by radicals.

Recall that on March 23, 2023, in Ivano-Frankivsk, the cathedral of the Ivano-Frankivsk Eparchy of the UOC was raided. The bandits broke down the side doors, got inside the cathedral, sprayed gas and took over the temple.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the believers of the Khmelnytsky eparchy told the UN about 30 cases of violation of their rights.
