UOC Chancellor comments on the attack of radicals on His Beatitude
Metropolitan Anthony noted that the activists who attacked the Primate of the UOC do not know anything about life, and many generations will cry because of their act.
The Chancellor of the UOC, Metropolitan Anthony, commented on the attack on His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry near the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra by OCU supporters. He said this during a sermon posted on his Facebook page.
“Those who mock us behind our back are also our children, grandchildren, who, like it was yesterday, were hounding His Beatitude and shouting some slogans. Probably, I don’t know why, their grandmothers did not pray well for them, or they did not see a glimpse of heaven in their mothers’ eyes… <...> But their conduct should be different even out of respect for His Beatitude’s age,” he said.
At the same time, the hierarch noted that the activists who attacked the Primate of the UOC do not know anything about life, just like their supervisors.
“They don’t know anything and they will cry. And not only them, unfortunately. We will also cry, and most likely, many generations will cry for such evil deeds. We must be God-fearing and do everything in our power to prevent such acts,” added the UOC Chancellor.
As the UOJ reported, a group of radicals tried to attack His Beatitude Onuphry near the Lavra.
