UGCC shames its students for disco: You are in a Catholic university
The priest of the UGCC, Justin Boyko, shamed the students of the Catholic University, who organized a disco to the song "Highway to Hell".
On May 1, 2023, Justin Boyko, the sinkel for monastic affairs in the Lviv Archdiocese of the UGCC, shamed the students of the Ukrainian Catholic University (owned by the UGCC) for a disco organized by them in the Lviv House of Scientists.
Boyko posted his appeal to UCU students on his Facebook page.
The Uniate priest reminded the students that they study at a very reputable university, and this imposes a certain responsibility on them.
“You are students of a glorious educational institution, which the righteous Metropolitan Andriy Sheptytsky once dreamed of creating,” Boyko said. “People, who run large powerful international companies, churches, graduated from it. These are politicians, priests, philanthropists, and so on.”
Boyko said that the fate of Ukraine depends on the UCU, and it is impossible to disgrace it.
“The name ‘Catholic University’ does not mean that you all have to be Catholics, but this title is given by the Church to educational institutions as a sign that they adhere to the teachings of the Catholic Church in their activities,” recalled Justin Boyko.
“As a priest”, he called on the UCU students to make apologies and not to disgrace the UGCC and Ukraine.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that in Lviv, the Uniate youth staged dances to the song "Highway to Hell".
