Primate: UOC prays to God and calls on people to be reconciled
We would like to help people become peaceful, noble and love each other, emphasized His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry.
The Ukrainian Orthodox Church prays to God and calls on people to reconcile and not fight with one another, said the Primate of the UOC, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, during the marathon dedicated to the Day of the Christianization of Rus’ on the “112 Ukraine” TV channel.
“I would rather say what we would like to do for our land, our Church. First of all, we pray to God and ask people to reconcile and not fight with one another so that people respect each other so that people love God and love each other. This is our main task and main prerogative, the main goal, "the Primate emphasized.
He noted that the Church would like to help people become peaceful, noble, kind and patient so that they respect each other, love God and their neighbours.
“Not everything works out, but this is our goal, and we do not give it up. Of course, we are dealing with many issues. We have children's homes in the Church where we raise orphans ... We feed the homeless and the poor. We do not show this off, we do it for God's sake, we do not stop doing it,” said His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry.
The Primate also reminded about the performance of the church service – the Sacraments of the Church, which help people to be reconciled with God and with themselves.
“As long as God gives us strength, we will do it,” concluded the Archpastor.
