SBU announces suspicion to deacon of Zaporizhzhia Eparchy of UOC
Now a preventive measure is under consideration.
The SBU said it suspects a deacon of one of the churches of the Zaporizhzhia Eparchy of the UOC in "anti-Ukrainian activities", the SBU press service said.
"The Security Service has exposed a deacon of one of the churches of the Zaporizhzhia Eparchy of the UOC, who campaigned for the ‘annexation’ of Zaporizhzhia to Russia," the report said.
According to the SBU, he used his Vkontakte page for this purpose.
The deacon was notified of suspicion under Article 436-2 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of the armed aggression of Russia against Ukraine, glorification of its participants) and Part 1, 161 (intentional actions aimed at inciting ethnic or religious hatred) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Now a preventive measure is under consideration. A pre-trial investigation is ongoing, the SBU said.
As reported, the SBU announced suspicion to the rector of the Pochaiv Seminary.
