According to Epiphany Dumenko, temple prayer during the coronavirus epidemic is not necessary, as it is possible to pray at home.

On March 23, 2020, the head of the OCU Epiphany Dumenko called on his congregation not to come to church services because of the coronavirus. He wrote about this on his Facebook page.

Epiphany noted that he had always urged "believers to come to divine services" but "now we again and again call on everyone to share the burden of self-restriction”.

According to Epiphany, "this is what the essence of Lent implies: to voluntarily accept restrictions" and "if we are now staying at our homes, it is not because of weakness but because of the strength of our faith, for by doing so we set an example to our neighbours that we care for them and testify that our homes are also places of prayer”.

Earlier the UOJ wrote that according to Epiphany’s secretary, the OCU hopes for antiseptic and the UOC – for prayer.
