Zelensky urges Heads of all Churches to hold online worship
In order to minimize the spread of coronavirus in Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky asks church leaders to hold public services without believers.
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky called on church leaders to conduct online services so as not to create crowds and thus not to add to the spread of coronavirus infection. This is stated in the message of the press service of the President’s Office of March 23, 2020.
“I’m thankful to those Church leaders who understand the danger and hold worship services without people, online. I am sure that other heads (of Churches – Ed.) will join such a compulsory practice. Indeed, today people really need faith, but no less they need basic security,” the President said in his address to the Ukrainians.
Zelensky once again called on all citizens of Ukraine to stay home and not go out without unnecessary need, stressing that now "the number one task is to minimize the spread of the virus."
As reported by the UOJ, earlier President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky called on church leaders “to be understanding” about the quarantine in connection with the coronavirus epidemic.
