Poroshenko party MP: Only those who recognize Tomos for OCU can be Orthodox
An MP from the European Solidarity party suggested that those Orthodox who do not recognize the OCU should create their own "non-Orthodox organization".
Journalist and MP of Ukraine from the European Solidarity party Mykola Kniazhitskyi said that the term "Orthodox" in all its cases, derivatives and meanings in Ukraine can only be associated with the OCU. He wrote about this in his publication on espresso.tv.
“'One state, one Orthodox Church' is the fundamental historical and canonical principle of the organization of Ecumenical Orthodoxy. That is why the Ecumenical Patriarch granted the Tomos to the Orthodox Church in Ukraine, and not to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, as many had hoped. By this act, he emphasized that there is one Church of Christ, formalized organizationally taking into account the existence of states,” assures Kniazhytskyi.
For those who do not recognize the Tomos, the people's deputy proposes to decide which non-Orthodox religious organization they belong to, or "found a new and already non-Orthodox."
“There is a rule of freedom of conscience and religion in Ukraine, so everyone can believe in what and how they want or not believe in anything. This is a citizen’s will and right,” added the MP from the European Solidarity party.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Eurosolidarity deputies urged to search for information on "Moscow priests".
