After the godless Soviet period, the UOC raised many churches and monasteries from the ruins, and now the followers of the “new Church” are encroaching on them.

On March 17, 2019, on the Triumph of Orthodoxy Week, the abbot of the Holy Dormition Monastery, Metropolitan Arseny of Sviatogorsk, the vicar of the Donetsk Eparchy, reminded the pilgrims and parishioners of the monastery of the persecutions of Christians which have repeatedly shaken the Church throughout its history, reports the press service of the monastery.

His Eminence touched upon the current challenges and named signs of the truth of the Church of Christ, based on the Holy Scripture and church tradition, and also demonstrated the inconsistency of the words of those who campaign in favour of the new church structure in Ukraine.

Vladyka recalled how the UOC was raising its temples and monasteries from the ruins after the godless Soviet period, how many new churches were built and appealed to all those involved in the modern persecutions of the Church of God in Ukraine: “You can’t go to Heaven from stolen temples”.

As the UOJ reported, on the Day of the Triumph of Orthodoxy, about three thousand parishioners and pilgrims who testified to their faithfulness to the canonical Church, headed by His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry, gathered for solemn Divine services at the Sviatogorsk Lavra.
