UOC: TSN report on a priest and his terrorist dog is another manipulation
On September 8, the TSN broadcast a story about an incident in the village of Goloby in Volyn, resulted in a dog’s biting a child. The journalist said that the local priest, the rector of the UOC church in the village of Goloby in the Kovel district, Archimandrite Nifont (Omelchuk) is responsible for this.
The TV report is based on the story of a local anonymous person who knows everything only from "reliable sources".
As reported in the diocese, in reality, the dog that lived in the courtyard of the priest's house ran away due to the fact that a board was somehow torn off in the dog cage. Running out of the house, the dog bit a small child.
"The child was given first aid at the hospital and sent home. Father Nifont took the the dog’s blame and hurried with apologies to help the family of the injured child. The conflict would have been exhausted if it had not been for the same anonymous author who had been waiting for a long time to find some dirt on the Goloby priest with an active civic position," the diocese explains.
Thanks to the "skillful" presentation of the TSN journalists, Father Nifont turned into the hero of the horror film, which "keeps the whole village in fear" and in general "bribed everyone".
The press service of the diocese says that Archimandrite Nifont was born in Goloby. Five years ago he returned to his small homeland in the priest's rank and headed the local Orthodox community. Sincere faith and monastic vows, enthusiasm and openness, perseverance and love for people soon united around Father Nifont a lot of like-minded people and assistants. Archimandrite Nifont implements a lot of public projects, which really unite and develop Goloby residents.
