Kiev Patriarchate blesses lucrative-to-KP draft law #4128
According to the UOC KP, religious communities willing to exercise their right to change jurisdiction encounter difficulties, whereas draft law #4128 reportedly provides for “qualitative and balanced mechanism of exercising the above right.”
The statement directly says the draft law in question is profitable namely to the Kiev Patriarchate, since it alleviates the elimination procedure of the UOC communities with their further re-registration as the UOC-KP ones.
The Kiev Patriarchate rejected accusations of illegal temple seizures and believes it is the UOC-KP adherents that are subject to “informational, forceful, and juridical pressure.”
It will be reminded that in a number of inter-faith conflicts adherents of the UOC KP cut off church locks, took part in bashings of the UOC believers with the support of ultra-radical organizations; priests of the Kiev Patriarchate intruded into the community’s life, pitting parishioners against the UOC, and organized so called “referendums” on transitions to the Kiev Patriarchate. Quite often such referendums were attended by the people who were remote from the community’s religious life.
