Court affirms the rights of UOC community to the church in Konstantinovka for the third time
October 10, 2016, the Donetsk Economic Court of Appeal held the third hearing of the case on the religious affiliation of Sretensky Church, seized by representatives of the Kiev Patriarchate.
"The decision of the Donetsk Economic Court of Appeal is another confirmation of the legitimacy of the rights of believers of the UOC to their own churches in cases of infringement of the latter on the part of the schismatics," emphasizes the Information and Education Department of the UOC.
Representatives of the "Kiev Patriarchate" have the right to file an appeal to the Appeal Court of Kiev within 20 days.
Earlier, in April 2015, businessman Y. V. Shapran organized a change in the structure of the parish council of Sretensky Church and transfer of the community to the UOC-KP. However, on May 16, 2016 the Economic Court of the Donetsk region in Kharkov for the first time recognized the illegality of the changes in the structure of the parish council of Sretensky Church. On September 6, the court upheld the decision. By law, representatives of the "Kiev Patriarchate" have the right to appeal to the Donetsk Economic Court of Appeal, which was actually done.
