On May 22, the day of transfer of the relics of St. Nicholas, in the church at St. Nicholas mine in Kirovskoe town, closed since the beginning of the hostilities, a special service prayer was held, reports the site of the UOC Diocese of Gorlovka.

The service was conducted by Archpriest Georgy Tsyganov, the senior priest of John of Kronstadt Church. It was followed by the Cross procession. As the diocesan press service noted, "fortunately, for the period of military actions neither the territory nor the church was damaged."

Now, after the cessation of fighting, the mine management is intended to resume coal production. The service is attended by residents of nearby Novoorlovka. For them, the church is open daily.

Before the war, weekly Liturgy was held in the church at St. Nicholas mine, the miners came to pray before going underground. The church and the mine turned out in the fighting line when the hostilities began in the suburbs of Kirovskoe. Coal mining ceased and the mine was closed. Liturgies ware no longer committed.
