The court refused to transfer a UOC church to the UOC KP in Mnishin village
Zhitomir administrative court of appeal upheld a ruling of 17 May 2016, according to which the UOC community has the title to the church.
Twenty UOC-KP representatives and lawyer B.V. Yanul, who had arrived at the court hearing, behaved inadequately and cried out political slogans.
The court had earlier refused the UOC KP to satisfy their lawsuit. In March 2016 a religious community of the UOC KP filed a suit to Rovno district administrative court on transfer of ownership of the UOC church in Mnishin village, registered for the UOC-KP community. On 17 May 2016 the court made a ruling to refuse the church transfer since it established that at the moment when the decision was made, the religious community of Saint Pokrov parish of the UOC KP diocese was not granted a status of religious organization under the law. In view of this fact the community’s rights and interests could not be violated.
The UOC KP community did not agree to such decision and filed a complaint to Zhitomir administrative court of appeal.
