“Truly Allahu Akbar”: Russian priest tells why he is fighting with Kadyrov

The priest of the Russian Orthodox Church of the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Pervouralsk, Priest Andrey Tropin, spoke about how he is fighting in Ukraine as part of Kadyrov's Akhmat detachment.

Ramzan Kadyrov himself posted a video about “Orthodox soldiers” in the Akhmat detachment on his Telegram channel.

Andrey Tropin went to war against Ukraine together with Andrey Sudnitsyn, the altar boy of the church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.

He admits that he was banned from the priesthood for this act. But despite this fact, according to Tropin, his dean, who “himself served in the Airborne Forces and knows what war is, what military operations are, upon learning that we were going to Ramzan Kadyrov’s Akhmat unit, shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’, and we also responded to him with ‘Allahu Akbar’.”

According to Andrey Tropin, the dean told them "not to hesitate” and go to war “with the words that the Lord is Almighty,” adding “Christ is Risen!”

“So we are now saying ‘Allahu Akbar! Truly Akbar!’” said the priest who was banned from the priesthood.

He also noted he had consecrated his own machine gun, as well as those of his colleagues. “We don’t have sprinklers, so we consecrated them with our hands. I drew a cross on my machine gun so that it could be clear that this is the priest’s machine gun, this is my sword,” summed up Tropin.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the commander of one of the military units in the Russian Federation said that the war in Ukraine is “holy” and if Allah forbids it, he is a “weakling”. After saying these words, the commander was killed.
