Zelenskyy thanks US Phanariots for their help in creating OCU

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy sent a welcome letter on the occasion of the opening of the 23rd Council of the Ukrainian Representation of the Constantinople Patriarchate in the USA, as reported on the Facebook page of the UOC of the USA.

Addressing the participants of the Council, Zelensky noted that the UOC of the USA for more than 100 years of its existence has become significant for "the entire Ukrainian community throughout the world".

"We are grateful to the UOC of the USA, in particular, for her special role in the formation of the Orthodox  Church of Ukraine. Celebrating the sacrificial service of the hierarchs, priests and faithful of the UOC of the USA, who’ve carefully preserved Ukrainian traditions, historical and cultural heritage, we highly appreciate the help to the Ukrainian State since the beginning of full-scale Russian aggression," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote in the letter.

Patriarch Bartholomew, Epifaniy Dumenko and New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy also sent their greetings to the participants.

As earlier reported, Zelenskyy thanked Patriarch Bartholomew for condemning the war.
