Met Emmanuel brings “fraternal greetings” to Georgian Patriarch from Phanar

On August 11, Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia of All Georgia received the Phanar hierarch, Metropolitan Emmanuel (Adamakis) of Chalcedon. This is reported by the official website of the Georgian Church.

The Metropolitan of Chalcedon conveyed fraternal greetings from Patriarch Bartholomew to the Primate of the Georgian Church and said that after the pandemic, it is important to resume bilateral visits “to strengthen friendship and unity in order to overcome current difficulties and challenges.”

Both sides expressed their condolences over the tragic events in Ukraine and stressed the need to take appropriate measures to end the war and promote peace.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that, according to the Primate of the Polish Church, in order to resolve the Ukrainian issue, Patriarch Bartholomew should convene all the Heads of the Local Churches.
