Pope meets with transgender people
Pope Francis honoured transgender migrants – two Argentines, a Uruguayan and a Peruvian – with a private conversation after a general audience, кузщкеы the Corriere della Sera newspaper.
The pontiff greeted the transgender people and spoke to them in Spanish. One of the interlocutors said he made meat pancakes for the Pope, and Pope Francis asked him to bring them to him for lunch. The RCC head then presented them with a rosary, writes the publication.
The Latin American transgendered men had previously worked as prostitutes in Rome, but due to the pandemic they lost clients. Left without money, they turned to the Catholic Church for help. At the Vatican's behest, a priest helped the migrants and now they have been able to meet the pope in person.
"They suffered because of their identity and general contempt. I was thrilled to see their joy," said one of the nuns who witnessed the pontiff's meeting with transgender people.
As reported, the Pope thanked a nun who promotes LGBT ideas "for her service".
