Zelensky congratulates Ukrainians on Easter from St. Sophia of Kyiv

On April 24, 2022, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky congratulated Ukrainians on Easter from St. Sophia’s Cathedral and noted that all Ukrainians today believe in victory, reports the Office of the President of Ukraine.

“We are overcoming dark times, and on this bright day, most of us are not in bright clothes, but we are fighting for a bright idea. We are on the bright side, and on our side are truth, people, the Lord and the highest heavenly radiance,” Zelensky stressed.

The President expressed his conviction that Ukraine is protected by an unshakable faith.

“On the Resurrection of Christ, which symbolizes the great victory of life over death, each of us asks the Lord for one thing and says the same words to heaven. The words of the great and united prayer: God the Great, one, save Ukraine. Protect those who defend us. Protect the skies of those who defend their native land. Strengthen the will of those who defend us from bondage. Save those who defend Ukraine. These are our military, border guards, national guardsmen, territorial defense, intelligence. These and all our other warriors of light. Help those who help them. These are volunteers and all caring people from Ukraine and all over the world. Give strength to all who give their all,” he added.

Zelensky recalled that last year Ukrainians celebrated Easter at home because of the pandemic, and now Ukrainians are celebrating the Resurrection of Christ not the way they are used to, because of another virus – a plague called war, but, according to him, both last year's threat and the current one have one thing in common: nothing can overcome Ukraine.

“At Easter, we ask God for great grace to make our great dream come true – this is another great day, the day when great peace will set in Ukraine. And with it – eternal harmony and prosperity. With faith and confidence in this, I congratulate you all on the feast of Easter. Take care of yourself. Take care of your loved ones. Take care of Ukraine! Christ is risen! Truly He is risen!" the President concluded.

As reported, Vladimir Zelenski said that the light of Baptism was brought to us by the Greeks.
